Color hardeners are dry shake color applied to the surface after the concrete is poured in place. The color hardener is then worked into the concrete surface. Integral color is concrete dye which is added to the concrete before it is poured. Integral colors provide color throughout the structure. The colored release powder is spread over the surface of colored concrete to prevent the tool pattern from adhering to the concrete. The colored release also provides surface and grout line shading for a natural stone appearance. Penetrating color concrete stains are generally preferred over concrete paints because they will not crack, chip or peel. Clear sealers provide UV color protection to colored concrete and concrete products such as pavers.
